Apps: Free App a Day
It is important that every app that is installed on your iPad comes from the Apple Store to insure that it is virus-free. Although there are many apps that are free, many of them are trials or limited. A great way to get apps on your iPad without breaking the bank is to receive email updates from the website, Free App a Day. This website indicates various apps from the Apple Store that normally cost money, but are promoted for free on a specific day.

How to make your iPad run faster
Every wants the fastest iPad. To make your iPad run faster, you’re going to have to perform a few basic tips and tricks on it. First of all, be sure that your apps aren’t always running in the background, as this can cause your iPad to run a lot slower than normal.
To check which apps are running, double tap the home button. This will display all of the apps that are currently running along the bottom of your iPad. Hold your finger on one of the app icons until it wobbles. A red ‘x’ will appear – this is your ‘end program’ button. Be sure to close all the apps that you are not currently using, as this will make your iPad run a lot faster.
Second of all, make sure that when you delete an app, you have also deleted it from your iTunes account. Once you have deleted it off of your iPad, plug it into your computer and open iTunes. Find the apps that you have previously deleted on your iPad and make sure they have a check mark on them in your iTunes account. Once you have checked the apps that you wish to delete, click ‘Sync’. Once this is done, remove your iPad from your computer and restart it by holding down on the ‘lock’ button for ten seconds.
Organize your iPad by creating folders
To create a folder, simply hold your finger over an app icon until it wobbles. Drag the app onto another icon and release it. The two apps will then appear in a folder, which can then be renamed. To rename your folder, simply tap once to open it and then tap on the ‘x’ beside the name and retype a new name for your folder. This allows you to organize your iPad and to keep track of all your similar apps.

Maps: Street View
You can access Street View on your Maps app, just like you would from Google on a laptop or desktop computer. Once you have entered an address on Google Maps, drop the red pin on the highlighted street from the map. Next, tap the red and white icon of the person on the screen and select Street View. This will give you an identical Google Map Street View that you would find on a regular computer… who knew!?
Covering your tracks
Not everyone needs to see what your browser history looks like on your personal iPad. To delete your history and cover your online tracks, open the Settings app, tap on Safari and then choose the option to clear history. If you would prefer that your sites are not tracked all together, you can turn on the Private Browsing mode in Safari, preventing any website from appearing in your history.
iPad: your digital picture frame
Rather than spending a hundred dollar bill on a digital picture frame, set up your iPad to act as one while you are not using it! When your iPad is sleeping, click on the home button and a small flower will appear beside your ‘Slide to Unlock’ button. Tapping on the flower will start your slide show! Here’s a hint to avoid odd cropping of pictures: go to the settings when your slide show is playing and turn off the setting ‘zoom in on faces’ as it tends to reshape and resize your photos, making some of those close-ups quite undesirable.
Don’t be limited to four apps on your dock!
Did you know that you can change the apps that appear on your dock and you can even have more than four apps at a time? Well, now you do! To add apps to your iPad dock, simply rest your finger on an app icon until it wobbles and drag it to the dock. Be careful not to place it on another app icon, as that will cause the app to be switched out rather than added. You can add up to six of your favorite apps!

Screen Shot
You can easily take a screen shot on your iPad by holding down the home button and the lock button at the same time. The picture will be saved along with your photos. Try it out!
Hidden Characters have been discovered on the keyboard
When using your keyboard to type, try holding down a letter or a number for longer than usual – this will allow for additional characters to appear. For example, holding down on the quotation key will show the quotations used in French! Also, tapping the space bar twice when typing gives you a period.
